My name is Clemente Pellegrini. I was born 33 years ago in Florence, and still I live there. I am a farmer, even if maybe a better word could be “gardener”. Yes because my farm is in Chianti area, the closest part of Chianti area to Florence, and our hills have been outlined in centuries from many people, forging a very peculiar territory, that is like a big garden. I look at it as the proof of how much of good men could do whenever the point at the right target. The Chianti's area has been managed with the goal to make them as a beautiful home to live in. Goal scored, if you want to know my (not objective) opinion.

The Farm Castel Ruggero Pellegrini
Castel Ruggero is 15km far from the center of Florence, an area that has always been at the center of the men’s care. I tried, with the help of my brother, to recompose the history of the area and of the castle, now half-owned by my family, the Pellegrini. It ‘a long history, beautiful and twisted, with mixed success, as a bit the life of all of us. In the end, to know what has happened before us is a great help in figuring out what we can expect tomorrow!
The first territorial urbanization of Castel Ruggero is Roman, more specifically during the Hellenistic period in the second half of the second century. B.C. The settlement was at that time close to the main road network Etruscan-Roman, which more or less corresponds to the current “via di Castel Ruggero”, which borders the villa from Capannuccia subsequently declines to Meleto and back up towards Sezzate.
Few surveys during medieval times. Maybe not so strange if you think about how much this last band of clay soil, before Florence, the first of the Chianti mountains, creates problems to the building.
